“Blessed by our partnership with SwitchDoor”
“Over the past year, our women’s soccer program has been really blessed by our partnership with SwitchDoor, and the people behind the company. I have known Robert Blakemore for over 20 years, through playing soccer, and growing a friendship as our kids have gone through the same school together. The sponsorship of our women’s soccer program by his company has been so fantastic for our program, as SwitchDoor has remodeled our changeroom, brought greater value to our players and within the team and helped enhance our program’s culture of excellence. We are so appreciative to SwitchDoor for their professionalism and generosity in helping grow our winning culture.
I really appreciate the partnership and the amount of care and energy SwitchDoor has contributed towards our program’s success both currently and in the future. In addition, our team in now participating in the SwitchDoor Community Program, where we will be able to raise much needed funds towards our upcoming team service project to Peru and Paraguay in May 2019.
SwitchDoor has been a wonderful support and corporate partner to work alongside and our program is extremely grateful for all they continue to do towards our goal of impacting lives, and shaping future leaders through sport.”

“If you can imagine it, Rob can build it!”
“A few years ago, our community theatre company, Imagine That! Productions, decided to bring “The Hobbit” to our stage in Langley. During an early brainstorming session one of our young teen actors enthusiastically told us about her dad – Robert Blakemore – and that he was really good at woodwork and she knew he would volunteer his time to help with the set.
When it came time to stage the play I was not sure what to expect. I had not seen any ‘work in progress’. Four men carried in The Door and secured it on stage. Our Bilbo Baggins ‘Hobbit Door’ was indeed the most beautiful set piece that I’d ever seen on any stage – and it was ours to work with! The actors were inspired. The show a great success.
Following the final performance, Robert and his wife cooked and hosted the dinner portion of the After Show Cast party – ON the stage – with delicious traditional English fare. The actors had to ‘sing for their supper’ as they filed in from backstage through the ‘Hobbit Door’ where a feast awaited them!
CONGRATULATIONS Rob Blakemore! You are indeed one of the most brilliant and talented craftsmen I’ve ever known… an artisan to be sure.
If you can imagine it, Rob can build it!”

“Local business owner that shares the same vision that we do”
“Theatre in the Country has been operating since 2013. As a local amateur theatre company, we rely heavily on volunteers to help us fulfill production needs in a variety of ways. One of the key areas we rely on the expertise and resources of our theatre community is in set building and stage craft. Robert Blakemore has become a key person in this area by donating his time and shop to helping us on projects that require an extra special touch of craftsmanship.
I was introduced to Robert several years ago when we were looking for help on a rather complex project for one of our shows. We needed to build a 14′ diameter revolving stage platform and had found some plans on-line, but it was going to require expertise beyond our means. Robert graciously opened up his shop and took on the job personally to help us complete the task. In a great show of community involvement together with his experience and help from other friends of our theatre our vision became a reality. We now own a beautiful revolving stage that has been featured in many of our productions.
Our Theatre is very much about community and we deeply appreciate local business owners who share the same vision that we do.”

“Stepped up above and beyond with a generous gift”
“A few seasons ago we wanted to remodel our locker room at the Langley Events Centre. We wanted a very ordinary space to be converted to an NHL Team-inspired Locker Room. Robert’s company stepped up above and beyond with a generous gift and designed, built and installed our amazing space. It is now a centre piece to our program and helps us with our recruiting process!”
